Tokyo Part Two!

Today pretty much revolved around food.

A Japanese friend recommended that we go to Toshi Yoroizuka: a renowned patisserie in the (very glamorous) Roppongi district. Of course, we went for breakfast! It was amazing. Delicious and beautiful cakes that the chef prepares in front of you.

I don't really take pictures of food, but look at these!

As we were full of cake and ice cream for breakfast, after walking around the Roppongi area we went to the Imperial Palace gardens to walk it off. Once again we found beautiful trees and a pretty cool statue of a samurai.

Somewhat disappointingly, we couldn't see much of the actual palace. This was about all we could see...

But it was a lovely walk anyway. I particularly loved how the park is in the middle of the city and is fully surrounded by massive modern structures.

We then walked around the business district and the modern buildings were stunning in their own right. I would now love to work in Tokyo - in one of these shiny buildings!

And we saw the International Forum: a space that was built to resemble a boat.

After our long walk we needed some more treats... The yummy 100% Chocolate Cafe certainly filled a hole! We tried some of their unusual chocolate flavours: lemon sea salt and black pepper (the first was particularly good! But I do love salted chocolate).

Then, more eating! In the evening we walked around Ginza trying to find a particular bar - but we could not find it! The huge amount of buildings and the fact that every floor is utilised made it pretty difficult to find a tiny bar.

Every cloud has a silver lining and we popped into an Aquarium bar for a drink instead! There were fish everywhere by our booth, and we saw nemos and even a creepy eel thing.

We finished our evening dining in style at a beautiful Chinese restaurant on the 42nd floor of a building near our hotel - we got paid that day so finally had money to burn. The view of Tokyo was incredible, as was the food and the decor of the restaurant - but it is a memory that cannot be photographed! I love Tokyo!
