Wakayama Adventure World

As you know, Jonathan and I LOVE animals. I think we found the best place in the world... Wakayama Adventure World.

It's a difficult place to explain, but it's pretty much a zoo (and safari!) where you can touch and feed an abundance of animals. There are also a few rides and roller-coasters that you have to pay extra to go on, and various animal shows/performances. Needless to say, we had an amazing day.

The entrance to the park is great! A flamingo pond and a fountain with PENGUINS swimming around! とてもかわいいです。

We saw about 100 penguins.. These bad boys being fed were so big that the feeders hand was bleeding from their nips!
And got super close to sleeping lions, bears, tigers and more on the safari train.

And, for the first time ever, we got to see a panda! Soo cute! He sat there all day just chomping on his bamboo all happily.

Oh... and there was a BABY POLAR BEAR!!

We fed a lion through a metal tube thing - this was super cool as his eyes were staring at ours the whole time.

Casually touching a rhino... and feeding a giraffe!

Feeding an elephant and HOLDING A BABY LION!!!!

The park was amazing. In the evening, we stayed overnight in a local ryokan style hotel by Shirahama beach. We watched the sunset before retiring to the hotel for the night. We wore our yukatas and visited the hotel onsen.
