Kyoto with Annie! Arashiyama

Annie came to Japan! We had a wonderful time: karaoke, sushi, okonimiyaki, castles... We were still working, but we spent our days off together in Arashiyama.

Beautiful Tenryuin-ji.

Trying to take a photo, but dropping litter everywhere. Ruining the beauty of the temple!

Being by the big lake is so beautiful and relaxing. You can watch the koi swimming around and enjoy being surrounded by hills and mountains.

We walked through the temple garden and into the bamboo forest!

And made a quick stop-off at Kinkaku-ji.

We then had time to do a tea ceremony. We took a taxi there and it felt like something out of a Murakami novel. The taxi driver spoke perfect English (so rare in Japan!) and was telling us his stories about working in America, losing all his money and having to start this new job. But with no sense of despair.
Kyoto! So many things to see!
