To our surprise, we were able to go skiing fairly near to our house! It only took us about 2 hours to get to Biwako Valley, and although it was small we certainly did go skiing. They also had a special deal to rent everything for the day - hence our matching outfits!
It was incredible to go skiing on a day trip! The only problem was the visiibility... As you can tell from our pictures, the day we went was very very foggy. This meant it was kinda scary doing runs for the first time.
A great experience! This ski resort is right by Lake Biwa, the same place we went for beach times in the summer! It's amazing to think that we went skiing and swimming in the same area. Japan is great!
Bizarrely I had exactly the same experience when I went skiing for a day trip in Switzerland - foggy.
